The vineyards of Monteforte

In Monteforte, in the heart of the Soave Classico area, we cultivate 35 hectares of vineyards. The winery top crus Froscà Contrada Salvarenza and Col Foscarin are located in the best hillside locations of the appellation, with excellent sun exposure.

Our biggest bet was the choice not to uproot the old Garganega vines, but to allow them to develop and grow to full maturity. We were able to witness and appreciate their qualitative potential, which is why we have chosen to preserve these vineyards that have been handed down through the centuries.
Today we enjoy a u nique heritage of historic vineyards. With an average age ranging from 80 to over a century of life, the old vines offer a small production of grapes rich in organoleptic properties.
In the area of the Contrada Salvarenza about a third of the vineyards a re ungrafted, since they survived the phylloxera which destroyed much of the European vineyards between the late 1800s and the early 1900s.

The composition of the soil varies considerably from one area to the other, going from volcanic tuff to calcareous layers. This is what defines the complexity of our wines and the nuances of the various crus.
The different microclimates contribute to the character of the wine, an example being the cold currents that blow at night on the Frosc à hill, which create an ext raordinary blend of perfumes in the wines.
Here in these territories, our great white wines are born, wines that are capable of extraordinary evolution and longevity, while also maintaining the acidity and minerality that characterizes them.
